Search
Engines
Search engines are a main source of free traffic and, as far as
possible, try to make as much use of them as possible.
In my experience, most of your search engine traffic will come
from the major search engines. You will get a trickle from
the smaller engines, many of which actually take their search results
from the Open Directory.
Concentrate your efforts on the major engines. Although
there are many services on the web that can automatically submit
your url to thousands of search engines at a time, it is better
for you to manually submit for the major engines. Not only
can you tailor your submissions for each engine, you may rank higher
because you manually submitted your page.
